Title: Serving is Foundational
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
In college, I worked for several summers as a framer. I’d like to say that I got to build many homes, but in reality, all I did was move piles of lumber and plywood from one location to another. While the locations often changed, the one constant was the foundation. As a framer, we would show up after the foundation had been laid. From there, we would begin the process of placing thousands of pounds of wood onto these short, intense, concrete walls. Not surprisingly at all, the houses always stood and served their purpose.
Maybe you have yet to build your household. Inspect your foundation. Perhaps you are building your household now. Solidify your foundation. Maybe your house is older. Check your foundation for cracks. For your house to resolve to serve the Lord, it requires a solid foundation.
Real men: tend to their foundations.
