Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us… – Hebrews 12:1c
This vs. refers to a race, but sometimes, I visualize hiking and reaching the top of a mountain. I like to think about a mountain because it is a mountain Jesus can choose. So many times, we get locked into climbing someone else’s mountain or vision.
The mountain God chooses is one to finish what we have begun in Jesus Christ. He stands at the base of the mountain with us. The climb will be easy at times and very hard at times. We may look back and see how easy it may be to go back down the mountain, but that would cast perseverance aside.
Today, pray for endurance and the determination to finish the climb on the mountain He has you on. Through the easy times and the tough times, Jesus is climbing the mountain with us.
