Title: Observe to do
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12
Being in the Word is not just skimming, reading, and claiming time spent with God. There is more to it.
In the first chapter of Joshua (1: 6-9), God is clear about the Word and gives Joshua several specific ways to use the bible in his new leadership role.
The part that caught my eye was “observe to do” or “do everything written in it.” This now becomes action, reading, meditating, and doing. The action part goes way past skim reading or logging time with God.
I encourage you to read the first chapter of Joshua and get the context around these verses.
