Title: Bringing clarity
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12
“How are you in your soul?” I remember being asked that question when I was around 6 years old. Our pastor had come to the house to visit, and in a quiet moment with just him and me, he looked me in the eye and asked me that question. I’ve never forgotten the gravity of that moment.
And today, I ask men that same question. Often, the answers are clear. Sometimes fuzzy. The clear ones come out of a life that is in the Scripture. The Word intends to bring clarity to that question. It gives us the language, priorities, and standards by which we can evaluate how we are in our souls. It penetrates and judges our thoughts and attitudes.
And I’m sure that’s why weak men neglect the Word and why real men embrace it.
Real Men embrace the Word.
