Title: Who’s the enemy?
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 6:12
I see the word engage, and my mind goes to movies with battle scenes, like in Star Wars or Brave Heart. They give us an image of what engagement looks like in battle. Both films clearly defined who the enemy was and how they would fight. It’s not always clear for our battles.
Who is our enemy? The key to engaging in spiritual warfare is understanding who our enemy is. Satan and his army are very well organized, and they are busy fighting God and God’s people. We need to realize that our battle is with Satan and his demons. So many times, our engagement can be misguided. This thinking is precisely what the enemy wants, he doesn’t want us to engage him directly, he wants us to battle with others. So, knowing Christ has our backs and knowing Satan has already lost the battle should give us courage in the battle.
Real Men engage in spiritual warfare.
