Title: Put it on and stand there
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
Interestingly, we tend to look at the armor part of this verse closely and miss what it tells us to do.
God’s armor is truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and the word of God.
There are only two actions we are told to take in this: ” Put on” the armor and “stand.” We’re told to stand firm—not go on the offensive, but stand and let God do that.
Verse 10 says, “Be strong in the Lord and the strength of his might.”
In other words, God is telling us, “Put this on and stand there; I’ve got this one.”
That’s a hard thing for men to do.
Real men stand firm.
