Title: Proficient with weapons
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
One of my roles as a law enforcement officer is training others in fighting and firearms. Understand that there are two types of officers that I work with. Officer #1 comes out a couple of times a year, does the minimum standard, and heads back to work, hoping upon hope never to engage in a battle. Officer #2 comes out regularly, is efficient with every tool supplied to them, and is ready for battle at every turn. Both of these officers know the enemy. They can tell you what they are fighting against and identify every available tool. So what’s the difference?
It comes down to one officer’s ability to use his tools proficiently and their readiness for battle. Which officer are you in the Lord’s ranks? Are you content to know the tools and where to locate them but low on the ability or desire to use them? Or are you ready for battle, a proficient fighter who knows where his tools are and how to use them?
Real Men practice/use the tools God has provided them.
