Title: Proficient with weapons
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
One of my roles as a law enforcement officer is the training of others in fighting and firearms. Understand there are two types of officers that I work with. Officer #1 comes out a couple of times a year, does the minimum standard, and heads back to work, hoping upon hope to never engage in a battle. Officer #2 comes out regularly, is efficient with every tool supplied to them, and is ready for battle at every turn. Both of these officers know the enemy. They can both tell you what they are fighting against; they can also identify every tool available to them. So what’s the difference?
It comes down to one officer’s ability to use his tools proficiently and their readiness for battle. Which officer are you in the Lord’s ranks? Are you content to know the tools, where to locate them, but low on the ability or desire to use them? Or are you ready for battle, a proficient fighter who not only knows where his tools are but how to use them?
Real Men practice/use the tools God has provided them.
