Title: Prep Work
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Eph 6:10
When I get ready to go hunting, there is a great deal of prep work to plan ahead of the hunt. I need to gather my weapons, make sure they work right, and I need to have all the supplies I will need to make it a successful trip without this prep work. I may as well try and talk the prey to death. Or maybe I can try and threaten it to death, or perhaps I can reason with it so that it will just fall over dead. Sounds crazy, huh? But that’s exactly what some guys try to do in spiritual warfare. They engage the enemy ill-prepared and get their heads handed to them, and then wonder what happened.
I’m not comparing the actual hunt with battle, only the prep work it takes to engage the quarry. In this case, our enemy is a powerful foe who will destroy you if you try to engage him without the prep work needed. So guys, make sure before you engage our enemy, you prepare, pray up, gather your weapons, and engage the enemy fully prepared and surrounded by your brothers.
Real men prepare and then engage the enemy.
