Title: No Man Left Behind
For the battle is not yours, but God’s.– 2 Chronicles 20:15c
We all want to be on the front lines in the battle for souls. Whether wielding the sword, knocking down strongholds, slaying demons, or interceding for the lost, a warrior is what we want to be for God. But what happens to those brothers who get wounded on the battlefield? Like the man who falls to sexual temptation or whose kids have run wild. When a brother is crushed under the weight of debt, gets a terminal diagnosis, or is having marital problems, who tends to them? Yes, there are prayer warriors who will step in and intercede, but who will stay behind and nurture the hurting back to health? Who will sacrifice and play the role of corpsman so that others can continue the battle?
This idea of staying with the wounded is often overlooked and not very glamorous, but do not ignore the need because you may be one of the wounded one day. You will cry out for help; a brother will hear your cry and stay with you until you are healed. Trust me when I say you will be eternally grateful for his company. Think about becoming one of the corpsmen.
Real men know when to sacrifice for others.
