Title: Live for Him
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
Sacrifice was commonplace in first-century Jewish culture, and it was done as an act of worship. God invited his people to draw near to him in this way: You would bring your best young animal to the temple, and with the help of a priest, you would kill the animal and offer it to God for the forgiveness of sin.
But it wasn’t commonplace for the lamb to get off the altar after being sacrificed and walk away! Jesus’ death was a sacrifice for our sins. And His resurrection means it was once and for all.
Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we don’t have to die for our sins. Now we can live for Him.
How can you live for Him today? Take a second as you are finishing your breakfast or making your way to work and answer this question. Be specific and then follow through.
