Title: I Trust You
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
“Come on, son, let’s go for a walk.” “Where are we going pop?” I can only imagine the conversation was something similar to this as Abraham and Isaac journeyed to the mountain. If Isaac were anything like my son, it would be a journey of 1000 questions. “Dad, what’s that animal over there?” “Dad, what if we could fly like that bird? That would be awesome!”
As troubling as this story is for me as a father, so is my relationship with God. In His divine intervention, God has called out to me, “Son, let’s go for a walk.” I am that kid with 1000 questions, while he has only one request. “Son, climb up on this altar today. No son, you’re not the sacrifice, I’ve arranged that one. Honor your dad, and do as I’ve asked.” All He asks is to respond with, “Okay, Dad, I trust you.”
Real men willingly climb that altar.
