Title: Follow Him
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
“Take up your cross and follow me,” Luke 9:23. Have you ever considered the impact of these words? Christ is asking you to pick up an instrument of death and pursue him. When Christ made this statement, he knew full well what was in store for his life. Death was his reality, and he pursued it with your salvation in mind. He requires nothing less from you. He desires that you not count the cost of following Him, but rather deny yourself and pursue Him.
This pursuit of Him while marching to the gallows is the highest form of worship. It trumps words from a song on Sunday. It beats, placing a fish on the back bumper. By giving Christ your will and pursuing Him, you have put Him in His rightful place in your life. This is your spiritual act of worship.
Real men worship through sacrifice.
