To stand up for anything is a sacrifice. Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and William Wilberforce are all individuals who took a stand. One thing we can learn from them to stand for something is that one must sacrifice something. Depending on what you are making a stand for, it might be one of the hardest things you will have to do as a man.
In the gospels, we see Jesus being tempted in the wilderness by Satan. Satan was offering Jesus everything he could want without doing anything to get it! Jesus instead chose to take a stand, not give in to temptation, and sacrifice personal comfort (among other things).
What do you need to take a stand against? Is it pride? Is it standing in the way of injustice? Is it standing up for your wife? Today, look for opportunities to take a stand in the little things for others.
