Title: Higher Expectations
Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32
When I was a kid, this verse was used to explain why we prayed for our food in public. It was the baseline standard for letting others know about your faith.
It initially felt more like a show, a duty, than a real moment of gratitude and engagement with the Lord.
I’m relatively sure Jesus had higher expectations than that.
We live in a broken, dishonest, inconsistent, self-obsessed, narcissistic world. Being the opposite…not out of your own strength…but because of what Christ is doing in you, it is an acknowledgment of who God is in your life.
Real men live lives that acknowledge the Lord.
