Title: Higher Expectations
Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32
When I was a kid, this verse was used to explain why we prayed for our food in public. It was sort of the baseline standard for letting others know about your faith.
To be honest, it initially felt more like a show, a duty, than a true moment of gratitude and engagement with the Lord.
I’m fairly certain Jesus had higher expectations than that.
We live in a broken, dishonest, inconsistent, self obsessed, narcissistic, world. Being the opposite…not out of your own strength…but because of what Christ is doing in you, is an acknowledgement of who God is in your life.
Real men live lives that acknowledge the Lord.
