Title: Did you catch all that?
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.– Matthew 6:33
We talk about the kingdom in church like we know it well. But do we? I sometimes struggle to grasp the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven. We are told, “Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” We are told that the kingdom of heaven is like a farmer, a mustard seed, a treasure, a merchant, a fishing net, or the story of a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son.
Huh?
Did you catch all of that?
Most of the time, I only get a small portion of what Jesus was talking about. But from these stories, I get the idea that the kingdom of heaven is right in the middle of other enemy kingdoms. It’s bigger than those other kingdoms, even though it started small. It has immense value, and once you’ve found it, you’ll do anything to hang on. And the kingdom of heaven is full of all sorts and types of people. All are invited, but not everyone will come.
Is this the kingdom you will look for today? Seek after it. Look hard for it. The discoveries will be unique.
Real men look for His kingdom.
