Title: The big windshield
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33
There is an analogy that you may have heard. “The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror”
To seek God’s kingdom, we need to look ahead through the big, wide windshield and focus on what is ahead of us and what God has planned for us. He promises heavenly treasure, rest, and fulfillment of His highest purpose for man – fellowship with Him and being part of His kingdom.
The rearview mirror does have a purpose. We can look back and see where we came from, what we experienced, and what we have learned. However, we don’t need to stay focused on the rearview mirror. Satan wants us to focus on the sins and bad things from our past, and if we fall for this, we are not looking ahead at the grace and peace God has for us. Our past is forgiven, and our sins have been forgotten, so don’t dwell on looking in the rearview mirror too long. Look forward and seek God’s kingdom.
Real Men seek to look out the front windshield.
