Title: Encouraging others
Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” – Hebrews 3:13a
I recently attended my wife’s High School reunion. As a guest, I decided to stay in the background. Being me, I looked at the people standing or sitting alone, figuring these were the nonpopular classmates.
I started a conversation with a gentleman with long hair and a beard standing alone. He immediately suggested I stand close by and converse; never been one for crowds, he said, I gladly did so.
We spoke on many topics, school years and after, a broad brush on our faith. About halfway through the evening, I learned from David that he went into ministry, moved away, and is now back in the area, and no one knows him. I found another loner with whom he started a conversation. Within minutes he was now in the thick of the reunion.
Do you have people in your life who may be loners but need encouragement?
Real men are humble and grateful when God uses them.
