Title: Bigger Plan
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
The story of Peter, when Jesus was arrested, is a relatable example of pridefully standing your ground even when you’re wrong. We’ve all had moments when pride got the best of us, and Peter’s story is no different. His instance of taking the ear off the Roman soldier, initially seeming noble, was actually a misguided attempt to help God. But God doesn’t need our help. There’s always a bigger plan at play, beyond our understanding.
How often do we, like Peter, mistakenly believe that God needs our assistance, failing to recognize the existence of a grander plan?
If you find yourself entangled in pride, remember Peter’s story. Letting go of pride is not a sign of weakness, but a step towards understanding the bigger plan. Don’t let pride win, or it could cost you dearly. By releasing pride, we open ourselves to the greater wisdom and guidance of the divine plan.
