Title: Have you done it?
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
How many times have you done it? You buy something, and the most dreaded words to a man are on the packaging. “Some assembly required.” These words are enough to bring some of us to our knees. We will stare at the picture on the package and convince ourselves that we can complete the task at hand based on this staring technique. Under no circumstances would we ever think to look at the directions. Hours later beat and holding on to our last hope, and we pick them up. Viola, it’s done in minutes, and the finished product is beautifully assembled.
When God stirs your spirit to do something for Him, how many times have you refused to stop and read the directions that God has put in front of you? We know that we can do it better or worse; we don’t need His instructions to accomplish the work He has called us to. We will not surrender, no sir; we can do this, well, some things we can’t do. Unless you move to exterminate this prideful nature, you may be missing the completion of a mighty work.
What keeps you from surrendering? Will you make an effort to stop and listen to directions?
Real men surrender their pride.
