Title: Blinding Pride
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18 NIV


⁃ Pride – a powerful word that gives us satisfaction from our own achievements, or the achievements of those we closely associated with. “Warning” pride is born out of humiliation and rejection, it protects our hearts from pain. As men surrendering our pride is an act of humility, an acknowledgment of our imperfect humanness. The humbling process can be humiliating to the proud. Essentially, this summarizes the sin cycle that we as men all battle. Pride blinds us to our need for God. Then failure, and disconnection, can ultimately lead to destruction. For us to know God and enjoy his blessings, we need a humble heart.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
