Title: Love is obedience
This has been my practice: I obey your precepts. – Psalm 119:56
What is it about obedience that is so scary? I think for most of us, it involves pride. Many of us go to church and sing of and profess our love for Christ, but what about obedience?
A.W. Tozer is a favorite author of mine. Read what he says about obedience. “Our Lord told His disciples that love and obedience were organically united. The final test of love is obedience.” This is not any different from any parent-child relationship. As a parent, we set forth rules and boundaries out of love for our child, and in turn, we expect them to follow through. But we can’t expect a child to say he/she obeyed; we expect action. So does God.
Real men show their love for God through obedience.
