An idol is an image or object that can take God’s place.
Idols can be everyday things that we have and use to take God’s place. What idols do you have that distract you from worshipping God fully? Is it an image or perhaps a photo? What about an object, maybe a car or an electronic device? What about a sports team that you would do anything to watch or see? None of these things are wrong within themselves, but it becomes a problem when they take precedence and are more important than God.
We have a Jealous God that wants our affections. Will we let idols get in the way of genuinely giving our entire worship to God? Surrender yourself and your idols to God and allow him to receive all the glory!
