Title: Soul Cocaine
Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. – Jonah 2:8
The “idol” I most often cling to is my own addiction. When I cling to my addiction and continually turn to it as my “Soul Cocaine,” I get my fix from the addiction rather than from God Himself. I forfeit the incredible grace that could be mine if I would only learn to place my trust and confidence in God alone.
What makes us cling to anything more than Christ Himself? Why do we continually turn away from God when He is pursuing a relationship with us? Imagine what it would be like to experience God’s grace consistently? Imagine how we would see Jesus work in our lives if we would simply take Him at His Word and trust Him?
Let’s pray for that kind of strength every moment of our lives!
