Title: Self Idol


Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8


Do you want what you want when you want it? If so that’s our flesh, not the Spirit. Are you envious of what someone else has, feeling you deserve the same thing? If so, that’s our flesh. Never thought about oneself being their own idol. Still, it stands to reason that if we are focused more on our wants and needs and not God, then that fits the definition of an idol.


Surrender your wants and needs and seek what God wants and needs for you.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
