Title: Do as I do.
Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12b
What kind of man would you follow, one who tells you what to do or one who shows you? I come from a military family, and growing up, I was always told what to do and not taught how to do it. I hated it because sometimes I didn’t understand what I was doing, and it led to a deep resentment toward this kind of leadership. I had an uncle who took the time to explain things, and I loved hanging out with him. It shaped the way I am with people today. Currently, I minister to young adults, and their generation loves this style of leadership. When I asked them why they related, the answer was simple. “It makes you seem real to us” This is important because this generation can spot a phony right away. You know those guys, right?
The”do as I say not as I do” type. I want to encourage you to be the “do as I do” kind of man so that younger men will have a great example of how to lead a godly life.
Real Men are the example.
