Title: Perceived Strength
The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. – Psalm 28:8
How we perceive strength is relative. For example, have you ever watched those strong man competitions on ESPN? You know, the ones where guys are pulling semi-trucks or flipping logs in the air. Their feats of strength are incredible to watch.
But have you also watched a friend go through the grueling task of rehab after a horrible accident? Have you watched him/her find the strength to take a step after being unable to walk? It’s not flipping logs…but it is strength.
As men, we are called to have the Lord as our strength. The character we are to exhibit and the faith we are to practice demands strength that is outside ourselves. Whether big or small, our strength is to come from Him.
Real men find their strength in the Lord.
