Title: A different path
Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12b
When I was a kid, porn was something I had to go out and pursue. Now, pornography has to be avoided. When searching the most innocent of terms online, I hesitate to let my kids (10 & 8 yrs.) look as the search results flicker to life.
It shouldn’t be this way. But men don’t sit around whining about “shouldn’t.” They find a different path.
Purity is becoming something we need to do. Purity isn’t a reaction; it’s a stasis of pro-action. We pro-actively avoid things that could snag our souls and drag us down. And that can look different for each of us. Not every man needs to do the same thing, but every man needs to be doing something.
