Title: Back pain
Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12b
“Just Stop!” I screamed this as the therapist pushed and prodded on my back as I writhed in pain. She was trying to find the source of my pain in order to heal me and make me whole again. This was not unlike how the Lord pushed and prodded me as I battled the demon of pornography. Like the therapist, the Lord desired to heal me and make me whole again.
God knew that there were little people following in my wake and in order to lead them, He had to induce some pain. Shame hurt, and a damaged relationship were all products of my sin that He used to bring me back into wholeness. His desire for each one of us is to remain pure in order to be an example for others.
Real men lead in purity.
