So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. – Gal.5:16
Every day we battle our flesh. A battle that rages daily without ceasing will wear you down. Often, we correlate this battle with sexual sin and rightly so.
Sexual sin steals like no other sin can. However, we can “flesh out” in many ways. Excessive eating and drinking, idleness, anger, discouragement, greed and pride are just of a few of the other fleshly thieves we must be wary of.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour – 1 Peter 5:8 reminds us who our adversary is and what he is seeking. Satan is the original terrorist. You may lose the occasional battle but there is Good News. God is on our side and when we seek Him in our battle with prayer and meditation. Ultimate victory in the war is ours.
