Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
Can you imagine a naked guy running into a battle field? Well maybe you don’t want to imagine, but you get the idea. No armor and no weapons would be the worst idea when it comes to battle strategies.
At the end of the letter to the Ephesians, Paul tells us to ready ourselves for battle. He uses imagery that uses weapons and armor that cultivates deeper meanings than just something to fight with.
The weapons that God calls us to use is truth, righteousness, gospel of peace, faith and salvation. When we fight against the enemy, we need all of these to battle! One of these alone is God enough, but we need it all.
Let us be men who are ready for battle. Let us be fighting with truth, righteousness, gospel of peace, faith and salvation.
Real men fight against the devil’s schemes.
