An idol is an image or object that can take the place of God.
Idols can be every day things that we have and use that can take the place of God. What idols do you have that distracts you from worshiping God fully? Is it an image, or perhaps a photo? What about an object; maybe a car or an electronic device? What about a sports team that you would do anything to watch or see? None of these things are bad within themselves, but it becomes the problem when they take precedence and are more important than God.
We have a Jealous God that wants our affections. Will we let idols get in the way of truly giving our entire worship to God? Surrender yourself and your idols to God and let him receive all the glory!
